We are Canada Colors & Chemicals Limited (CCC).We are a privately held Canadian Company, who have been serving the distribution and manufacturing markets for over 100 years. We are a successful supply chain partner providing “Intelligent Delivery” of products and solutions to the Industrial, Environmental, and Plastics industries. We currently operate two manufacturing sites in Colborne and Elmira, Ontario, and have supporting warehouses and sales representatives across Canada and the Northeastern United States.
We’re now looking for a Process Engineer to join us at our Elmira Site to monitor daily plant operations of a sulfuric acid, sodium bisulphite manufacturing and a 960 KW steam co-gen facility by maintaining our computer data acquisition system. This is a continuous operation so you will share in the responsibility to be on call during non-work hours.

What you’ll be doing as our Process Engineer:
- Providing insight and direction for all operational projects and process improvements
- Completing risk assessments & knowledge of OHSA regulations.
- 24 Hours on-call requirement for 1 week, rotating every 3-weeks
- Managing plant’s Honeywell PLC system for scheduled maintenance and critical inventory
- Production planning of raw material and finished products.
- Updating data to Ministry of Environment website to stay in compliance with Acts and Regulation ( NPRI, Stats Canada, Effluent data etc.)
- Managing the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 managed systems. This includes testing field samples and issuing CoA’s & Technical product support to customers.
- Be an active part of Responsible Care® planning activities such as Emergency Response Plan, Spill plan etc.
- Identifying critical pieces of equipment; cataloguing critical inventory of parts, logging this information into a maintenance program and drafting standard operating procedures

Working with CCC:
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm. You will be required to be on-call for 1 week, rotating every 3 weeks for weekends and after-hours coverage.
You’ll work primarily from our Elmira site, which is continuous process plant.

Qualifications:
- A university graduate in chemical engineering from a recognized university with a desire to learn and build upon the skillset
- Preference will be given for graduates who are wanting to obtain a certificate with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), Operating Engineer 4th or 3rd class
- Experience in an continuous operating plant environment
- P. Eng. license will be considered an asset but not mandatory to apply for the job.
- Preferred optional courses completed: Process Instrumentation and controls, pollution control
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective time management skills
