Overview:
Amyx is seeking to hire a Procurement Project Manager (PPM) Professional IV to support our National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) project in Golden, CO. In this role, the PPM III will join the ASP Team that is designed to integrate with the various directorates in the laboratory to facilitate acquisition planning and execution against the plans internally within Acquisition Services. These team members are called Procurement Project Managers (PPMs) as they rarely administer subcontracts but instead work with their technical counterparts to develop portfolio level plans, assist new technical individuals to maneuver the complex, compliance laden acquisition process in the federal environment and work collaboratively with the finance offices to ensure their key customers and the research mission is fully supported. Subcontract Administrators on this team are typically mid-level to senior-level resources with a wide variety of training and experience specific to contract execution (including negotiating, awarding and documenting the execution process) and project management as well as an aptitude for collaboration and experience providing executive level presentations and communication.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities: A PPM Professional IV in this capacity will function as more of a Customer Relationship Manager and Project Driver on a daily basis. While some steps in the procurement process will be completed by this role, this PPM will work closely with the OCFO Business Manager to work with the staff within a specific directorate. This position will work with staff to strategize long-term and long-lead procurements, track the progress of identified strategic acquisitions and report to the ASPC Group Manager in Acquisition Services, the OFCO Business Manager as well as directorate Group Managers, Center Directors and Associate Lab Directors as required. This position will be the ‘face’ of Acquisition Services to a research directorate within the laboratory.

Acquisition Professionals with specialized business, management, procurement, analysis, acquisition and construction backgrounds with experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, etc), Oracle ERP
Qualifications:

Desired education & experience:
  • 5 years with BS Degree, or
  • 3 years with MS Degree, or
  • Equivalent relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Resources for this team must have demonstrated subcontract administration experience with R&D and non-R&D procurements. Working knowledge of Federal/DOE acquisition regulations and procurement and contract knowledge in applying governing terms and conditions. Strong negotiation skills for cost-type, fixed price, and commodities-type blanket order subcontracts. Ability to develop strategies to effectively deal with project and program contractual issues. Strong cost/price analytical skills and business math skills. Strong interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills, with previous exposure to diverse assignments. Requires attention to detail, planning and organizational abilities, as well as the developed ability to work in a changing and fast-paced, team-oriented environment, interpret and discuss technical information with others, and analyze and provide solutions to complex contractual issues.
