A well-established Produce Distributor is searching for a Produce Buyer to join their team in North Carolina or Remote/Based. The qualified candidates must be motivated, team oriented, ambitious self-starters with a proven track record in exceeding established performance standards. The buyer will be responsible for developing, deploying, and sustaining a deep understanding of our customers, products, and supply chain.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Source high quality products and the appropriate value.
• Study forecasts and trends to ensure fill rate objectives are met while minimizing shrink.
• Facilitate an atmosphere of great communication between Buyers, Salespeople, and Operations team members.
• Support, own, and lead all facets of our procurement and supply chain functionalities relative to your items.
• Own the successful deployment and onboarding process of new business (as it pertains to supply chain) including but not limited to creating new items, forecasting usages, pricing strategies etc.
• Partner with various 3rd procurement groups to identify and select contract commitments.
• Partner with operations to ensure inventory and quality levels are accurate and exceeding customer expectations.
• Analyze market reports and advise appropriate people of trends and quality conditions.
• Manage all facets of freight and related expense including local pick-ups, backhauls, west coast mixers, straight loads and LTL.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Well versed in product sourcing, forecasting, margin management and supply chain.
• Excellent in analytics, data mining, and trending.
• Extensive commodity contracting, volume commitments, and profitability generation.
• Superior knowledge of MS Office 365and all related/necessary technology components.
• Time management and organizational skills; Attention to detail and able to multi-task.
• Minimum of 3-5 years food procurement experience.

Salary: DOE, Medical Benefits, 401K, relocation assistance.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
