About the role

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Specialist, technician will ensure consistent quality of edible cannabis production by assisting in developing and enforcing appropriate Preventative Control Plans (PCPs), in conjunction with existing GPP and GMP systems. The hourly wage for this role starts at $22.59


What can you expect to do

  • Work within GMP guidelines and enforce the Quality management system, such as change controls, deviations, non-conformance, root cause investigations, and CAPA’s.
  • Participate in development and maintenance of all required PCPs for edible cannabis product manufacturing.
  • Create, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives for edible manufacturing.
  • Conduct documentation review of all GPP and GMP reports.
  • Track metrics around compliance and efficiency for edible manufacturing and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including deviations, recalls, corrective actions and re-validations.
  • Execute QA plans by assisting in conducting hazard analyses, identifying critical control points and preventive measures, establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions and verification procedures for all edible products in the facility.
  • Able to write and review validation protocols and reports including but not limited to equipment validation, process validation, cleaning validation, computer system validation and method transfers/validations.
  • Participate in Annual Product Quality Reviews.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree or diploma in food science or other applicable science.
  • 2+ years' relevant experience in QA in a relevant field such as food manufacturing, Natural Health
  • Product manufacturing or Drug Product manufacturing.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems.
  • Possess strong technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience using ERP systems.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to an evolving environment.

  • Experience or an ability to demonstrate competency in GFSI and other quality management programs, including ISO 22000-2017, FSC 22000, ISO/TS 22002-series, ISO 9001-2015, GMP, HACCP, CODEX, COR, associated FSMS.
  • Ability to interpret and understand Regulations in the context of the scientific and commercial environment.
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong attention to detail.
