Job description
HOURS: DAYS, EVENINGS, NIGHTS, INCLUDING WEEKENDS
SALARY: $31.387 (Min.) - $36.425 (Max.)
Pay rate, benefits and other terms and conditions are as per the CUPE 139 Collective Agreement
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Current Certificate of Registration ~ College of Nurses of Ontario required
Current B.C.L.S. Certificate required
Recent medical and surgical clinical experience in an active care setting (within 3 years) required
I.V. Therapy required
Capillary Blood Glucose certification required
Relevant nursing skills such as working with PCA pump, and TPN maintenance required
Excellent level of interpersonal skills required
Excellent level of written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team with the ability to function well in a team oriented
climate required
Ability to provide health teaching to individuals required
Able to meet the physical demands required to provide nursing care to surgical and medical patients required
Ability to function in fast-pace environment and problem-solve required
Ability to work with minimal supervision required
Basic computer knowledge required
Must demonstrate commitment to ensure their safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and
visitors
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
Good attendance and work record required
Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is an asset
Criminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check:
recent within six (6) months is a requirement
