Job description

Research Lab Technician at Penn

University of Pennsylvania – Philadelphia, PA

Join the research group of Prof. Matthew Good at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. My laboratory is interested in two fundamental areas: (1) How cells coordinate cell growth and division to regulate their dimensions, in the context of tumorigenesis and early embryogenesis, and (2) how cells compartmentalize biochemical processes in membraneless organelles; how disordered proteins self-assemble into discrete biomolecular condensates. To address these topics, we utilize vertebrate and mammalian model systems, leveraging molecular biology, cell biology biochemistry techniques along with cutting-edge imaging. The broader significance of this research is that improper regulation of cell proliferation and organelle scaling are linked to human developmental disorders, cellular senescence, neurodegeneration, and cancer progression. We have a history of success in this position: all previous technicians have successfully matriculated to medical school or graduate school.
