Software QA Analyst

Boston Area (Weymouth)

Hybrid Work (In Office/Remote)

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 based on experience.

C/F Data Systems is a respected provider of enterprise software to specialty contractors, with a focus on customer success. C/F develops and markets STRUCTURE, a fully integrated Job Cost, Accounting and Project Management platform, which provides the ability to manage all aspects of financial reporting, payroll, workforce scheduling, job costing, and inventory control. We are in the process of a multi-year transformation from on-prem to Cloud-based delivery.

We are looking to add to our staff an experienced Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst; a detail oriented individual who enjoys and excels at working with software systems and environments to identify, troubleshoot, and test overall solution quality. As a significant part of a small QA team, you will be responsible for independently assisting support and development to identify functional and regression test cases, developing and managing manual testing processes, and assisting in development of automated tests.

While daily responsibilities will vary and adapt, you will be expected to:

• Perform functional and exploratory testing of development changes (e.g. bug fixes)
• Create, maintain, and execute manual test cases (including writing manual test scripts)
• Isolate, replicate and report defects and verify fixes
• Adhere to established ticket reporting and workflow process
• Participate in sprint planning sessions, daily scrums, sprint reviews, retrospectives, etc.
• Contribute to planning, design, and development of both manual and automated tests

We are looking for someone skilled in the following areas:

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially in written documents
• Basic understanding of accounting and accounting practices a plus
• Experience as a manual tester (2+ years of experience)
• Fundamental grasp of Windows administration (basic CMD functions, software installation, remote desktop implementation)
• Strong skills using Microsoft Office products, especially MS Word and MS Excel (including formulas)
• Capable of reading HTML, CSS, and XML files
• Experience implementing automated testing (Selenium, Powershell experience preferred)
• SQL server basics (connecting, verifying existence of a DB, develop/run basic queries)
• Fundamental understanding of networking (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML)

The ideal candidate should enjoy working independently in a hybrid work environment (in-office, work from home). While C/F Data offers a collaborative and supportive environment, overall this role includes many task-oriented objectives that require the tester to find workable solutions, raise blocking concerns to garner assistance, and manage tasks in parallel.
