Supervises, through subordinate supervisors, the overall operation of a major municipal refuse transfer station; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy:
There is one vacancy with the Department of Environmental Services, Refuse Collection and Disposal Division. Vacancy is located at Keehi Transfer Station. Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Under the general direction of the Refuse Disposal Superintendent, has immediate charge of and 24 hour responsibility of the operations, service, and routine maintenance of Keehi and Kawailoa Refuse Transfer Stations. Operates a pickup truck or similar vehicle for visits/inspections, accident investigations, truck breakdowns, training sessions, pick up supplies, division meetings, and as required for other duties.
Special Work Requirements: Working in an environment where conditions are obnoxious, nauseating and unsanitary. Exposed to heavy atmosphere of fine dust and heavy moving equipment. Travels long distances at any time of day and in any weather to carry out duties. 24-hr on-call responsibility for the Keehi and Kawailoa Transfer Stations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the operation and maintenance of a refuse disposal or transfer facility or in semi-skilled work activities involving the use of motorized equipment, which must have included one year of supervisory experience.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (Type 3), prior to appointment.

In addition to meeting the above minimum qualifications, your application will be further evaluated. Your score will be based on the quality, quantity, and/or recency of your training and experience.
