Truck Driver (Ajax Start & Finish)

Crescent Moon Transport is seeking a self-motivated transport truck driver to transport goods and materials.

· Candidates must be able to work any days of the week (with 2 days off per 7 days)

· Day will start from Ajax and will travel out to any of the following locations: Ottawa, Cornwall and/or Montreal

· Shifts may be during the day or night and will be determined at the start time. Candidates should be able to work either shift.

• Driver must be willing to bunk out, if needed

· Ideal candidates will be familiar with long haul trucks, have experience in the industry and clean driving records.

· Pay is based on a daily rate of $285 inclusive of HST

· Driver must be incorporated

· Minimum 3 years Canadian driving experience

· Must have clean CVOR and driving records

· Must be able to provide an experience letter documenting 3 years driving experience

· Start and end in Ajax

Responsibilities include:

• Operating and driving long haul trucks weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials over long distances
• Planning and executing trip logistics and obtaining required documentation to transport goods
• Performing pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals and brakes
• Overseeing the loading and unloading of goods
• Ensuring cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and following safety procedures for transporting goods
• Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Saving all invoices, bills and receipts and handing them in to the Director of Operations at the end of each day
• Administering bills of lading and manually or electronically maintaining log books
• Communicating with the Director of Operations, dispatcher, other drivers and customers (as required) using communication devices
• May perform emergency roadside repairs

This position will be based out of the Ajax, Ontario and trips will originate from and conclude in Ajax, Ontario. A daily run consists of a go/back trip.

You’ll need to have:

• A secondary school diploma or equivalent
• A valid Ontario CDL driver’s license (Class AZ)
• Three or more years of Canadian work experience (as a truck driver)
• A clean driving record
• A clean CVOR driver abstract
• Ability to work Monday through Friday
• A mobile (cell phone) with nationwide calling

As part of the application process, you will be asked for the following:

• A copy of your driving record (pulled within the last 30 days)
• A copy of the CVOR driver abstract (pulled within the last 30 days)
• To undergo and pass a driving test

Successful candidates will be required to provide the following prior to commencing work:

• A valid SIN (Social Insurance Number)
• Proof validating the ability to work in Canada (e.g. passport, permanent resident card)
• A mobile number that will be used for communications
• Ontario business name and number, including articles of incorporation
• A GST/HST number

Salary: $74,100 per year
