Schedule: 40 hours/week (9am-5pm, with flexibility)

About this role:
Wellness has been a cornerstone of Gateway Community Services Maine since its founding. During the pandemic, our organization has been able to step up and work alongside community members and community organizations to development grassroots, really developing our capacity and wellness supports programming. We believe in community care, where we are interdependent and stronger when caring for and cared for by the community around us. As such, our wellness programs are informed by the community, are culturally competent and familiar and are focused on wellness in the most comprehensive sense: mind, body and soul.
Currently, our wellness programs include things like our Community Health Outreach Work (providing direct 1:1 and group support out in the community); holding and coordinating COVID-19 vaccine and testing clinics; holding space for group wellness chats and check-ins; holding community wellness events and activities; and helping to orient newly arrived families to the healthcare system and its resources here in Maine. As our wellness programs have grown throughout the year and continue to grow, we are looking to hire someone that can help us guide our wellness programs and team. This includes developing and coordinating our current program portfolio, while also helping to guide and plan for future developments and initiatives.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Oversight GCSM’s Wellness Program portfolio. This includes direct supervision of Wellness Program staff; leading GCSM efforts to produce necessary and quality reporting to current program funders; supporting with the identification and pursuit of future funding opportunities; identifying points of integration across Wellness Programs, and other GCSM programs.
- Provide direct supervision and support for team of Community Health Workers, Youth Homelessness specialist, and Workforce Navigator as well as coordinating trainings, systems and staff wellness supports as needed/requested
- Represent Gateway at wellness-related community-wide meetings, DHHS meetings, DOE meetings, DOL meetings and supporting collaborative efforts with partner organizations;
- Assist in the stewarding of State contracts that support Gateway’s Wellness Programs, including ensuring compliance, execution and reporting
- Oversee the integration of trauma-informed approach in service delivery, especially within the Community Health Outreach Team;
- Lead monitoring and evaluation efforts to assess, adjust, improve, continue and keep best practices for Gateway’s Wellness programming.
- Weekly oversight of team reporting, data collection, and service delivery
- Utilize and analyze data to inform program operations, and implement corrective action plans as needed
- Conduct outreach to community providers, CBO’s, and families to gather collateral information for service planning and referrals
- Serve as Community liaison on matters affecting our target population including behavioral health, physical health, wellness, entertainment and cultural competency;
- Work closely with Gateway’s Communication team to create content, review and share information with community members and other partners.
- Authorize: time sheets, vacation requests and related administrative needs to maintain the smooth operation of the team;
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor, which are consistent with the position and in compliance with agency policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, psychology, or related field; or 5 years of related professional experience
- MHRTC is a plus
- Commitment to and demonstrated experience in working cross-culturally and with a deep understanding and dedication to cultural competence
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with Salesforce, Eccovia Client Track or other database applications is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft office and/or similar productivity software
- Experience working in grassroots, community-based wellness settings preferred
- Understanding and experience practicing cultural competence, especially in the context of wellness programs
- Supervisory and management experience is a plus
- Ability to motivate, delegate, analyze, problem solve with others
- Commitment to working on a team, while balancing with being a self-starter
- Experience managing State contracts is a plus
- Experience working in community wellness settings that provides services to refugees, immigrants or other minority groups;
- Understanding of the Community Health Outreach Worker role in Maine is preferred
