Happy Pooch opened in 2010 to offer dog owners the opportunity to treat their best friends to the highest quality of service and handling that the Happy Pooch owner demanded for her own pets. Since 2010 the business has grown and evolved.
Happy Pooch is currently looking for a motivated and talented individual to join the team as Kennel Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for bathing, drying, brushing, and prepping dogs for the groomer. Additional duties will include cleaning the sleeping and play areas as well as feeding and exercising our daycare and boarding dogs.
You must love all dogs and be a hard worker. It is a very hands-on job, and you will be responsible to clean and care for various dogs while also sharing in the responsibility of the safety, supervision, and management of daycare, grooming and boarding dogs within our care. You will be on your feet, working inside and outside, while maintaining a respectful and caring manner with animal and human clients.
Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and have the physical stamina to take dogs on long walks. Other outdoor and indoor chores may be required such as gardening and basic property upkeep and maintenance. The ideal applicant should be able to work well in a team environment but also be able to work and think independently. Applicants should have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and be problem solvers. Good customer services skills are required to interact with clients in a confident, upbeat, and knowledgeable manner.
We are open 7-days/week to care for boarding dogs. The ideal candidate will be available on some evenings and weekends, occasionally on holidays. A driver's license and your own transportation is a definite asset. There is an opportunity to be mentored in the dog training and grooming aspects of this business for those who show a keen interest in learning new skills.
