Some of our Large and Mid size Medical clients in Calgary, Welland, Toronto, Keswick, Oshawa, Aurora, Edmonton, Brampton, Bolton, Toronto, Moncton, Bathurst, Miramichi, St. Johns and Vancouver are looking for some Nurse Practitioners for their busy Clinics.

The Nurse Practitioner is an integral member of the transitional care team in the provision of comprehensive health care services. The Primary care nurse practitioner demonstrates autonomy by assuming and having sole accountability and the authority to independently communicate a diagnosis, prescribe drugs and a range of diagnostic tests within the scope of practice. The key responsibilities to achieving the NP purpose include: utilizing and demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking and decision making skills to assess, diagnose, plan and effectively manage the patient. The focus of the NP is to implement strategies that promote health and prevent illness, lead, develop and implement professional development activities / programs that support quality of life and patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN (EC) registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario; and/or eligible to write Extended Class exam
  • Masters preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C)
  • Knowledge of local community resources (across the WWLHIN).
  • Certification (CNA), in Gerontology or Medical-Surgical preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Advanced de-escalation, Code White training preferred (training will be provided)
  • Knowledge of Community Resources preferred
  • Ability to work independently on cases with consultation from multidisciplinary team members
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to engage in conflict resolution
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, risk management and debriefing
  • Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
  • Effective communication and leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Superior presentation and consultative skills
  • Demonstrated teaching and mentoring skills
  • Good attendance record

Salary: $80.00-$95.00 per hour
