Outreach Worker, Fabric Health

What’s Fabric? We’re the healthcare startup meeting families where they already are...laundromats! While families wait for their laundry to wash and dry, we help them identify, navigate & obtain positive healthcare outcomes. As an Outreach Worker, you'd be interacting directly with community members on a daily basis and helping them get connected with healthcare resources and community services.

About Fabric Health

Founded in 2021, Fabric Health is a woman and minority-led, early-stage social impact startup recognized by Fast Company and Forbes for its service to thousands of families.

The Outreach Worker will spend their time working in laundromats to:

• Build relationships with laundromat customers
• Survey laundromat customers to deepen understanding of families’ lives and needs
• Help improve & build Fabric’s products, services, and technologies
• Support families to complete applications, such as insurance enrollment, SNAP, and LIHEAP
• Make referrals to outside resources as needed and provide required documentation
• Follow up with families to ensure successful linkages to care

• Yes, we have formal partnerships with the laundromat owners.
• No, our focus is not on selling health insurance. Our focus is on helping people use the healthcare system, whether that’s finding a doctor that’s in-network or figuring out how to access a benefit.
• Yes, you will receive training to do this work.
• Yes, you will be working in laundromats all day.
• No, you will not be washing laundry.

Requirements

• Candidates must be authorized to work without restriction in the U.S. for Fabric Health.
• Candidates must be willing and able to spend their time working in-person inside laundromats.
• Candidates must be comfortable both walking, standing, and/or sitting for prolonged periods
• Candidates must be able to lift and carry supplies
• Candidates must love talking to people and be comfortable approaching people!

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in customer service, sales, and/or organizing
• Comfort with learning and using a variety of apps and technologies
• Passion for health equity
• Spanish language fluency

Location

Fabric’s laundromat locations are across Philadelphia. You will be responsible for transportation to and from the laundromat locations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
